Our Katahdin hair sheep flock is raised entirely on our mountain grasses and clovers.  Since the start, with our first 15 ewes, we have been a 100% grass-fed operation here at Riven Rock.  By raising our flock and growing out our lambs only on forage, we have created an outstanding lamb product that is milder, tender and like no other lamb you have ever eaten.  Now our flock has grown to more than 100 ewes, and usually close to 200 lambs per year.  We rotationally graze our flock through 300 acres of mountain paddocks, often with our cattle.  This multi-species grazing helps reduce parasites and keep our pastures fertile. Grass-fed lamb is rapidly becoming known for its incredible health benefits.  100% grass-fed lamb had 10X the Omega 3 fatty acids of even our grass-fed beef!  Its is becoming known as "land salmon" and it has no red meat equal for antioxidants and healthy fat profiles.  And its delicious!
